Chamberí. This centric neighbourhood preserves beautiful buildings from last century, most of which have been restored. As you go on to the José Abascal Street, the buildings are more modern and the houses more expensive. The bustle of the neighbourhood is concentrated along the Fuencarral and Luchana Street, up to the Plaza de Olavide. There is a large amount of cinemas in this stretch, which come one after the other, together with cake shops, cafés and clothes shops. On the adjacent streets to Fuencarral and on other further streets, such as Covarrubias, there are many tapas bars, restaurants and pubs/bars. The Santa Engracia Street concentrates the activity of banks, supermarkets and shops such as hardware stores, besides several Metro stations. Due to its closeness to the Salamanca district, Chamberi is appreciated by students from the Instituto de Empresa.
The oval of Rubén Dario, is near "Paseo de la Castellana" and is where Almagro street ends and begins Miguel Angel, that is intersected by the only walk of the sector: Eduardo Dato (before Paseo del Cisne). It is a quiet area in the late afternoon but very busy during the workday. Very safe and ready to live. The building is very safe, and close by at Rafael Calvo street is the Police Station and the Ombudsman. In the same Miguel Angel street, there are some administration buildings very guarded, the Miguel Angel Hotel is located in the other corner of the street. There are several restaurants such as VIPS or nightclubs as Shabay and Fortuny 7 near by Miguel Angel Street too, just a two minutes walk. All the surrounding streets have bars, restaurants and shops, for example paper shop across the street and pharmacy in the Ruben Dario square.
